Abstract

The discourses on men and masculinity present in certain social movements on new masculinities, sexual dissidence and radical feminists are analyzed using Foucault’s and Derrida’s insights in relation to the order of discourse and deconstruction. The article, based on a bibliographical and electronic documentary review, included websites and social networks. Discourses were identified that refer to the deconstruction of men and masculinity, but also to their destruction. I conclude that, although the proposals of Foucault and Derrida have made it possible to reveal the existence of an order of domination in the relations between the sexes, a less optimistic interpretation of their contributions could lead to a possible abyss. The critical questions emanating from this reflection lead one to think about the limits and even the dangers of these proposals, within the framework of an appropriation that encourages a discursive radicalization that tends to erode the human condition itself.
